Managing a driver's route

Managing a driver's route

Optimizing your drivers' routes is a key part of providing your customers with the efficient service they expect. It also ensures you're making good use of your drivers' time.

Here's how to easily set a driver's route in Breadstack Delivery.

Note: You can only manage routes for drivers who are online.
  1. On the Live Tracking map, open the Live monitoring panel and toggle to Drivers. Click the driver whose route you would like to manage. This will open the driver route panel.

  2. You'll see your driver's pickup (upward arrow) and dropoff tasks (downward arrow). This is the same route your driver sees in the CanFleet Driver App. To adjust it, click Manage Route.

  3.  You can reorder the tasks manually or by using Breadstack Delivery's built in AI route planning tool.
    1. Manually - Click the circles in the sequence you would like the tasks performed, then click Update Route.

Note that if a task involves both a pickup and a dropoff, the pickup must come first. That means the dropoff must take a later number.

    1. Using AI - Click Optimize Route near the top of the panel. Breadstack Delivery will automatically put the driver's tasks in the most efficient order based on geography, the proximity of addresses, and deadlines.

  4. When you're finished configuring the route, click Update Route. Your driver will receive a notification that their route has been updated.
