Dispatcher quick-start guide

Dispatcher quick-start guide

Welcome to Breadstack Delivery! As a seamless local delivery management platform, Breadstack Delivery is designed to keep you, your drivers, and your customers in sync from order creation to fulfillment.

How does the Breadstack Delivery ecosystem work?

In Breadstack Delivery, delivery jobs are called "tasks". If your admin has linked Breadstack Delivery with your store's ecommerce platform, you'll see tasks flow in automatically whenever payment is processed for a local delivery order. However, you can also create tasks manually right within Breadstack Delivery.

As a dispatcher, you create, assign, and manage tasks using the main Breadstack Delivery platform, but your drivers use the CanFleet Driver App to carry out deliveries. The app shows them their task list and route, and allows them to confirm pickups and dropoffs by taking photos and signatures.

Meanwhile, you can use Breadstack Delivery to track each task's progress, reassign tasks, and reroute drivers as needed.

What do I need to know to get started?

  1. Start by updating your profile with your username and picture.
  2. Get familiar with the way tasks move through Breadstack Delivery. In our article on task tracking, you'll learn where to track tasks and how to understand each of the statuses a task may take on.
  3. Learn how to manually create tasks and assign them to drivers. Keep in mind that your admin may have enabled Breadstack Delivery's auto-assignment feature, in which case Breadstack Delivery will make the assignments for you based on criteria like driver location and capacity.
Your admin may also have organized drivers into teams. This provides an easy way of seeing which drivers serve each store's surrounding area. If your drivers have been grouped into teams, you'll see the team lists when assigning tasks.
  4. Learn how to optimize a driver's route to ensure tasks are completed in the most efficient order possible.
  5. In case something doesn't go as planned, make sure you know how to reassign a task or send an alert to a driver.
